Bauxite residue (red mud) generated during alumina production is a highly alkaline solid waste. The red mud mainly stored on land, but it can cause harm to the surrounding environment and human health. transformation of into soil feasible method for large-scale disposal mud, alkali removal key process that controls soil. In this study, calcification dealkalization with small particle size was carried out below 100 °C. results show sodium in predominately distributed particles, because lattice present between crystals are exposed surface particles by ball milling. controlled internal diffusion shrinking-core model (SCM), apparent activation energy 23.55 kJ/mol. rate Na2O content dealkalized reached 92.44% 0.61%, respectively. increased increasing reaction time, reactant concentration, leaching temperature, result consistent kinetic study. addition, enhances flocculation so filtration performance improved.
